There are so many more sports “options” in Maryland vs rural Kansas! It’s great because I’ve got the opportunity with MaxPreps to photograph things I’ve never had the opportunity to photograph until now. First up on my schedule for fall sports was a pre-season Field Hockey scrimmage between North East and Aberdeen.
A few things I keep in mind when photographing a new sport…
- Will this be like football where I have to walk the sidelines to follow the ball? Or will it be like basketball where I find the best light and “background” and wait for the action to come to me?
- Follow the ball.
